New shoes from Eponymous Trenchmouth are always a welcome, and usually exciting, addition to my inventory. The Rigger is no exception. Resembling a workboot with the twist of a fabric textured cuff, the Rigger comes in several colors, including the Black Cherry shade pictured here. Menu resizeable, the boot is offered for 350L per color, or 1250L for the fatpack of all 6 colors. My only complaint, and this might be a fault of the jeans and not the shoes, is that the shoes are difficult to wear with long pants. One is almost forced to wear highwaters in order to show off the detail of the shoes; otherwise the cuff of the shoe interferes with the pants cuff. I had to do a bit of adjusting for each pose here, and that kind of adjustment isn’t possible on the fly while moving about in world.

Quality: 5/5 - Style-Originality: 4.5/5 - Usability (different layers for each item, modify perms, amount of outfits put together with a single pack, sizes for attachments…): 4/5 - Price: 4/5 - Value for money: 4.5/5

Which leads me to these jeans by Lookr. The texture is great, buffed and faded, strategically torn and scratched, but the jeans have the dreaded “jagged bottom bug” that can be so easily avoided. This often forces one to use sculpted cuffs, and sometimes these cuffs are a bit tricky to adjust over certain shoes (like these!). Designers, please check out these easy instructions for avoiding the pants bug.

I love the shading at the top of this Black Shirt from Kalrau, giving the impression of a slightly tight fit (or lack of an iron ;). The rolled cuffs are well done sculpty attachments, and the insignia on the left chest pocket is a nice touch. The sculpty collar was a little tricky to attach correctly (move it up and forward a bit once you attach it), but I like the look it gives once it’s adjusted.

Finishing off this outfit are a nice men’s platinum watch from edo Tone at Styles of edo and Jared hair in Blood_Dark from Truth. Enjoy!

  1. Thanks for the post, Perry, on behalf of Lookr!

Thank you for flagging up the jeans glitch. While the jeans at Lookr have been updated a number of times, the alpha channel has yet to be updated to solve this glitch. Jeans updates are on the way, however, and will address this problem outright.

The reason it occurs is because while the SL templates state that the lower leg ends in an arc, the in-world flaring option on the Pants layer actually maps below this point. The arcs end sharply due to the template, thus giving that nasty ‘glitch’ that is found throughout much of SL.

The screenshots in the SLMen solution are in fact Lookr products, provided to SLMen.

If anyone has a problem with this glitch, don’t hesitate to buy our jeans: once the update becomes available, come to the store and let me or Fayne see your jeans with your glitch enquiry. If you have the glitch ones, we’ll provide you with an update to the fixed version at no charge.

    Enjoy Lookr!
