Reviews and Credits after the jump!

From the latest Paper Couture collection for men, I chose to show you today this “Leather scale” outfit. It comes with a pair of pants, a jacket shirt combo on the jacket layer, gloves and an attachment for the shoulder feather piece. Paper couture doesn’t offer the best items on a technical point, that’s for sure, but they know like no other how to explode the boundaries of the usual “chic” you can find in SL, mostly composed of luxury (which means too often simply “expensive”) casuals or formal wear, to project us in the high fashion universe. Paper Couture allows us to wear stuff we wouldn’t even think of wearing in rl, and I love the brand for that. Beyond the imitation of rl fashion, the designers behind Paper Couture openly took their inspiration from Haute Couture, offering us the chance to dream and pushing us to dare the extravaganza of outfits like the one I’m wearing! Don’t look for perfect seams or ultra detailed textures. These Paper Couture outfits are like brilliant sketches of high fashion models; far from a never satisfied realism quest, they stand and seem to claim with a wink that they belong to SL and throw their sparkling laugh in a gracious pirouette, offering them for a low price which reminds you that you’re in a virtual world. Indulge yourself in a feeling of dream and humor; wear Paper Couture!

  4. if only to add balance, I have to admit the jacket does zero for me. If you can recommend bad seams, poor texture and not-the-best-quality simply by labeling it fun, witty, or “a sly wink,” then I can drum up hundreds of similar items stacked up in freebie boxes ;)

  5. First nasty comment of the year! YAY! Thank you Sigmund!
I thought you Americans had this saying: “If you have nothing nice to say, don’t say anything at all!”
At least Paper Couture offers original stuff, which might indeed not be your taste.
But please, I know one of your favorite brands offers a lot of items with flaws, bad seams and even bugged pants. Oh sorry, I forgot two things: so called “Magazines” overpraise it all the time (and never point the flaws, of course, so the masses feel like it’s the best quality,) plus items are sold 5 times the price of Paper Couture’s stuff for boring old fashioned photosourced items. Yeah I know it’s the best ego booster to feel special wearing expensive shit in SL, but it’s so sad.
BTW, I don’t recommend anything, I’m not a fucking guru. Just, from time to time, I dare showing on the website I pay the hosting for some stuff I like no matter what. I’m just being honest pointing what isn’t OK in them. It’s not because nobody does the same that’s it’s bad, you know?

  6. One may say that Paper Couture is to most photo sourced clothing labels - what fine art is to graphic design.

Where some photo sourced clothing does require degree of skill in putting it together and translating it from RL source into SL, it is probably less original and creative than what PC does since it is created by someone else. PC’s work is NOT meant to be perfect Sigmund and certainly you can not find it in freebie boxes. lol

It is like a painting, a sketch, it is work of ART made into clothing.
We want PC to be perfect as much as we want Nylon Pinkney to make photo sourced clothing. NEVER!

We rather enjoy their originality and imperfections over “perfect” copies of RL designer labels.
