Fashion Exploration: How men dress in Naraka (I)

Believe it or not, Second Life isn’t only about fashion, celebrity, hunts, or the latest dark drama involving some combination of any or all of the above. Some people spend a lot of time and energy on RP sims, roleplaying an intricate life wrapped in backstory.

This is the first of a series of posts featuring the unique looks of some of these roleplayers.

Credits after the jump!

The Naraka Federal Permanent Residence Facility for The Detainment Of Those Beyond Rehabilitation is a prison planet from which there is no escape. The sky is metal, the weather unpredictable. Once called Aedin by the corporation that designed it, it was created to be a modern marvel but was abandoned due to advances in technology and lack of money, and has long since fallen into disrepair–torn apart by the anarchical society created by the lawless souls set to populate it.

Geoffrey Welders plays Hermes, the wealthiest prisoner within Naraka. Despite his crass behavior and crude demeanor, fellow inmates do not hesitate to come to him for trade. There’s not an economic transaction that occurs, without him cutting a deal in it somewhere. He’s like the tax man, the accountant, Wall St.; a necessary evil, yet a pillar of what little civilization is present within the facility.

  4. Excellent! It’s about time that people started paying attention to the amount of care and concern that RP’ers put into fashion. Another really good place to check out is Midian City. There are so many different styles to be found there, yet they all tie together. It is a fashion exploration in and of itself!

  5. Also do check out the Deadwood RP community, many interesting period styles there from the 1870s.

  6. Excellent idea Ben! RP fashion and related merchandise are big in SL so it’s good that you have started reporting about them. Keep it coming!
