The All-Stars Relay for Life Team, of which I’m a proud member, cordially invite YOU to the 3rd Annual Back to the 50’s Week to benefit the RELAY FOR LIFE

Get out those poodle skirts, bobby socks and saddle shoes or the leather jackets, cuffed jeans and don those ducktails, we’re headed back to the 50’s! It’s time for the 3rd Annual Back to the 50’s Weekend for RELAY FOR LIFE! It’s all happening April 17th, 18th and 19th at Iridium (164/191/94).

I will be in a dunk booth on Saturday, April 18th, 10AM SLT. Here’s your chance to get back at BEN VANGUARD for all those times he didn’t see your chat in the room because he claimed he was WORKING, or gave you a 3.5 instead of a 4.0 for ORIGINALITY ;-)

The weekend begins with a sock hop on April 17th, from 6-8 PM, with oldie favorites provided by DJ Diva, Autumn Fairlane. A suggested admission donation of 250L will get you in the door and will give you a nice selection of door prizes. The King and Queen contest begins at the Sock Hop bring a picture of you and your sweetheart and enter the contest. Be sure to let all your friends know so they can vote for you.

45 for 45L are BACK! Be sure and order your name, the name of a loved one or your business ad smack dab on a 45. And have it displayed all weekend long. That’s right you can have an ad or devotion on a 45 for 45L!

Saturday will see festivities all day long, The carnival opens at 9 am SLT and runs until 9 PM. Carnival rides, game booths, the mechanical bull (Grand Prize is a HORSE), kissing booths, the Celebrity Dunk Tank, our always fun RFL clowns and watch out for the Sheriff who will be slamming all hooligans straight in the slammer. Put a friend in jail and keep them there until someone pays their bail. The Classic Car Contest returns on Saturday and an added feature, NEW this year, is Super Stock Car Racing.

Remember that TV show, The Dating Game? Join us as we recreate the fun. We will have two rounds, one with a bachelorette choosing from 3 eligible bachelors, and the other with a bachelor choosing form 3 eligible bachelorettes!! The fun starts when the questions begin, at NOON, 12:00 p.m. SLT and continues when the winning couples go on that special date chosen especially for them!

Be sure and shop our RFL vendor’s row, too. The entire section is filled with items created especially for RFL, by some of Second life’s top builders and designers. This is an exhibit you won’t want to miss! Vote at the King and Queen booth, take a stroll and shop our little specialty shoppes. Enter to win fabulous prizes in our Raffle Diner, grab a pair of skates at the Roller Rink, play a game in our game arcade, then finish up Saturday night with another Sock Hop at 7:00 p.m. SLT, bringing you golden oldies is the fabulous DJ, Shayla Juran.

The fun continues on Sunday, the 19th when the carnival reopens at 9 am. Then, at 11 am there are two rounds of another favorite game show… The Newlywed Game… but we’re calling it the Newly-Coupled Game. You could also visit the Drive In for the ever popular movie, Grease at 1:00 p.m. SLT followed by the coronation of this year’s King and Queen. The weekend ends with one more Sock Hop, Sunday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. SLT and the return of DJ Diva, Autumn Fairlane.

It’s a jam-packed oldie, but goodie weekend. And it’s all for RELAY FOR LIFE! Be There or Be Square!
