Tenue du jour / Outfit of the Day: All That Glitters

With the global economy being what it is, the advice from invesment analysts on Wall Street has been to store your value in gold. And strangely enough, the folks on Seventh Avenue seem to be agreeing - metallics, in particular gold, have been making a strong comeback on fashion runways the world over, and in Second Life, is best embodied by this gold jacket and pants from Muism.

It’s hard to go wrong with anything from Muism, really. Icemocolo Voom has an such a keen sense for the uber-cool and, together with Mirai Jun from CE Cubik Effect, has pushed the boundaries for men’s suits and jackets in Second Life through their use of sculpties and prim attachments.

The thing with sculpties, though, is that they’re notoriously difficult to get ‘just right’ and consequently, to wear precisely, such that all the seams are aligned. This gold biker jacket was no exception, but if you’re willing to overlook such matters, then on all other counts it’s certainly going to help you get your shine on.

The Muism pants stand out not just for their colour but the clever gold/brown combination - gold on the front, and brown on the back. The pants come in belt and beltless versions, and Icemocolo has also included a very bold belt buckle with the letters ‘MU’ in gold, for all Muism afficionados to visibly demonstrate their sartorial loyalties.

Completing the outfit are a pair of Muism headphones (DJ-ing animations built in), creme double-strap loafers (beautiful metallic sheen on these!) from Redgrave, and a cuff leather watch from the House of Shaea, which features very fine primwork on the cuff. I particularly like Moon Ling’s use of an serif font on the watch, which makes it feel as if the watch was an antique watch which has been repurposed and set into a leather cuff.

  2. Hi Domch,

I’ve seen you in this outfit and I must say, it looked very nice indeed XD

Not really the style I would wear though.. but the texturing and detail on the jacket/pants was very nice.
