Slmen – How Men Dress in Second Life ®

Two exciting bits of news today!

First, Fallingwater Cellardoor releases new shoes for men! That is great, because the last release was only a few weeks ago, and we were not used to being spoiled like that at Shiny Things! This new creation is sculpty based, so each shoe is only 17 prims. Sculpties free the creativity of the content creators, but make the texturing way more difficult. The shoes are original and show a bright sheen. Well, they are the exact opposite of “Old Shoes” from the same brand! The triple straps and buckles give them a sporty look, even though they can be used with an official outfit.

They come in 5 colors (shown) and are sold for 325 Lindens per color; each color pack offers 3 sizes and you can get a free demo in the store to be sure they will fit your avatar.

Second, Nessinger Loveless, owner and designer of T..a..R..t., clothing for women, just started a range for men under the name “Beef+Cake”. She offers basics, but very nicely done. Jeans and V-neck sweaters are nicely textured and show a high level of finish. I’ve rarely seen in men’s clothing seams of such quality and such a perfect collar, flawlessly drawn.

The jeans come in 4 color tones (shown) and the sweaters in 7. (5 of them are shown below, you can see a “Gray” and a “Chocolate” in the store as well.)

The sweaters come on the jacket layer with a base on the shirt layer. This base gives some volume to the sleeves. Well, all the faithful readers of SL Men know that I appreciate particularly this kind of attention to details! The garment pieces are set to “Copy-Modify-No transfer,” with the surprising exception of the sweater base which is no modify. It could allow to tweak precisely the length for a perfect finish if it was “modify,” but, hey, you can use another base if you are as obsessed as I am, like the one you can get at SL Men HQ.

The price of these quality basics is more than fair: 100 Lindens for a pair of jeans, 100 Lindens for a sweater and its base. For sure, the arrival of Nessinger on the men’s market will seriously challenge the men’s fashion designers!

I chose one more time a hair from Aitui to go along with this basic outfit, and some jewelry from Goth1c0 and Jewelry Mhaijik things.

Introducing today the Black suit set from Shin Mathilde. It offers a different panel of options comparing to the very good Aitui’s one (shown here), and you could be interested in it!
In the pack, you will find: a tucked shirt on the shirt layer, used as a sleeve filler as well, a complement for it on the underpants layer, if you want to wear the tucked shirt with low top pants, an untucked shirt on the jacket layer, a combi untucked shirt and jacket on the jacket layer and a simple black jacket on the jacket layer, that you will use with the tucked shirt or without any shirt for a bit of a decadent look!
A pair of slightly distressed pants and a flexi prim tie, which fit all the shirts of the pack, come with the other components.
As you can see on the pictures, you can get different kind of looks, from official to casual.
All the pieces are Modify, so you will be able to fit perfectly your pants with your shoes and set the looseness of the sleeves with accuracy. You can have this savvy pack for a low 350 Lindens.

To make complete this outfit of the day, I chose the Carl Perkins Shoes by Eponymous Trenchmouth, neither casual, neither too formal, some more jewelry by Mhaijik Guillaume from her last “Rubber” collection and one of my favorite hair, Grownout by Mystikal Faddoul. Enjoy!

Another costume, by Solange Cerveau this time, for The Silk Raven.

Solange is one of these generous designers who gives you a lot in a single package!
For each color pack of this impressive “Sultan” outfit, you will get: a turban, 2 necklaces, 2 pairs of pants, sculpted leg prim attachments, 2 kinds of belt, pre-sized in two settings, both obviously modifiable, a vest, a jacket, a shirt.

To avoid her customer being lost in all these elements, Solange conveniently put letters in the beginning of the name of each main piece, so you know what goes with what. You can of course choose to mix and match following your own taste!

All the items are copy, modify and no transfer. “Sultan” comes in two series of colors, “gold “and “silver,” each in black, white, green, blue, purple and red. I show you today my favorites.

The textures are detailed, and the entire outfit offers a high level of quality. You can have all the components in your favorite color for 500 Lindens.

To go along with the outfit, Solange offers curled slippers and more classic loafers. They come in the same 12 colors, in two sizes to fit every avatar and are priced 250 Lindens each (Copy only). I chose to present the curled slippers because I found them really fun!

You can add to the outfit a cloak for 300 Lindens (not shown). It comes in the same 12 colors. Well, I thought it was a shame to hide the detail of “sultan” under, but you can be interested in it.

Note that there is a fat pack including an outfit, slippers, loafers and a cloak for 975 Lindens for a color, which means 25% off.
