Slmen – How Men Dress in Second Life ®

When you need a refreshing shopping journey, there is nothing better than an exploration of some Japanese sims! Japanese designers offer truly original items, some at incredibly low prices! My last expedition was inspired by a reader, Domch Raymaker, who sent me pictures of the jacket from risey Arai for “Sey” that I show you today. Thank you very much Domch!
The jacket comes in 6 colors (5 shown plus blue). The jacket layer is completed with many prim attachments: collar, hood (2 sizes), belt, cuffs, arm pockets (2 sizes). The cuffs, belt and collar are moddable, everything is copy-no transfer. You can pick the color of your choice for 300 Lindens.

To go along with this jacket, I chose leather pants from El Trebol (Feliz Krasner), boots from Zero Number (Mai Runo), and hair from Hayate hair Lab (Hayate Ewing). Faithful readers have already seen items from these brands on slmen.

Also introducing interesting sunglasses from Youki Rau for Ottico. This brand offers tons of glasses and shades in a wide variety of styles, from (almost) classic to futuristic models.

Showing another luxurious costume by Raven Pennyfeather for Rfyre today! I’m using the brand new “Jack” skin by Posy Trudeau for her new brand “Flesh Peddlers.” I was just starting to work on a big “skin post with many pictures”, when I saw that Ryan was way faster than me on this! Go take a look at his review here!

Jack comes in many versions: 6 facial hair with and without eyeliner, tan and light, and many “specialties” like “Scarred,” “Eyeblack” or “Camo,” and the unique for now (to my knowledge) “dirty.” This skin is sold for 500 Lindens. Well, after “Tete a Pied,” “Flesh Peddlers” shows us that men can now have good skins for only 500 Lindens! At this price, it’s easy to be tempted with something special for a certain occasion!

Flesh Peddlers sells shapes as well; the ones for men are done by Vasean Talamasca and are sold for a very low 200 Lindens. These quality shapes are obviously MODIFY!

Talking about shapes, I was told that the biggest scammer of a shape seller, well known for selling overpriced no modify men’s shapes, just started to sell some moddable ones! Well, still scandalously overpriced for shapes pretty inferior to the others on the market (these guys should at least TRY to learn the basics of human anatomy), but it’s better for the customers.

I’m glad that the blogs as well as the shoe makers were explaining to the customers how important it was to get modify shapes lately!

• I showed a few days ago the very good torn jeans from Kim Takashi for Mantra. She just released new sets of prim buckles for them. Prim buckles are easy to position, and with them you can add a touch of personalization to your jeans without spending an hour to adjust a prim belt!

• I discovered the “Cielo” shirts by Feliz Krasner one day when I was shopping at Hayate Hair Lab. They are open up and down, so they are perfect to show that buckle on your belt! The shirts on the jacket layer come in Pink, Orange, Black (shown) Blue and Red (not shown). You can wear them with a tee shirt under them, but they look good and sexy worn alone!

First post of the series, with a shape from Body Politik and 3 skins from more than a dozen I tried with this shape. I chose the ones which offered the best fit for the face contour, then the best fit for the body.

The shape is shown “As is.” I just modified the foot size, which was conveniently set to 10 for a good shoe fitting, but was not good looking barefoot.

“Paul” is a high end shape, with good proportions, and you will appreciate it for sure if you like to be tall (6’10”) and muscular but not huge! As usual, if you love the face, take it. Bodies are easier to modify. Fortunately, like all the good shapes I will show you here, it is fully modifiable.

I purposely chose skins with no or little facial hair, for a better detailed face view.

<> Eponymous Trenchmouth (Jeepers Creepers) just revamped her clogs. Yes, clogs can be cute, and hers are! They come in many finishes (white, brown, black, camo and a special “tech” version). They are sold for 300 Lindens a pair.

• What makes me happy: Left and right foot are designed differently (look at your sl shoes, it’s pretty rare! they are usually the same for both feet). That adds a big touch of realism. I’m happy to have an alternative to sandals. I love sandals, but the feet in sl don’t look so good… and like Epy said very cleverly herself “You cant wear boots at the beach or on the boardwalk.” Lol!

• What I wish: I won’t deprive myself to ask for more colors!

<> New release at Savvy (Dakota Buck), with the unisexy “Lucas pants”, Dakota offers men short pants in four colors. They are sold for 90 Lindens each, and 300 for the fat pack.

• What makes me happy: the originality of the cut and the texture, the intense colors.

• What I wish: well, more, more, more versions! Shorter and a bit longer for example!
