Nouveau chez / New from: “Akeyo”, “Dinzeo Designs”, & “Studio Sidhe”

Perry Proudhon | - Every Day Outfits, - Tenue/Outfit, Automne-Hiver/Fall-Winter, Casual | Thursday, September 18th, 2008

Dinzeo Designs recently released this nicely textured argyle sweater hoodie, featuring sculpty attachments for hood, cuffs, front pockets and waistband. I’m not usually thrilled with hoodie cuffs or pockets, but I like these for a couple of reasons. First, the waistband (easily adjustable, by the way) has a stretched out look to it that makes it look more natural and realistic to me. Second, the texture of the front pockets reminds me of those soft leather patches you sometimes see on the elbows of jackets. I also like the kind of attention to detail like the ends on the hoodie ties. (This might be picky, but I’d almost like an eyelet where the tie enters the fabric of the hood to give it a nicer finish that matches the rest of the sweater design.) It’s interesting to note that the only thing photosourced on this sweater is the zipper! An excellent example of handdrawn SL fashion.

Completing this ensemble from Dinzeo is a pair of jeans, with a baggy wrinkled effect, highlighted with sculpty side pockets. Good seamwork and shading, and an interesting pairing of photosourced work with the handdrawn sweater. You get both the sweater and jeans for only 200 Lindens!

Akeyo really are masterful at sneakers, and these new AKIDAZ are well done as expected, with the trademark untied laces, and the ease of changing color by script. The nice part is being able to change the color of all the shoe parts. (I wasn’t real adventurous here and went with black, grey and white, but know there are many color choices, in any number of combinations, each shoe colored individually….GO WILD.)

I complemented this outfit with the Silver Surfy Wave Pendant from Studio Sidhe, a black enameled silver pendant with a simple wave motif, and the Kavi Poet Ring from Mhaijik Guillaume.

Enjoy!

This white jacket from Kal Rau is part of his newly released collection of men’s clothing, and — as usual — is superbly textured, a sort of net fabric overlaying a subtly patterned underlayer. Comes on the jacket layer with moddable hood.

The sunglasses, also from Kalrau, are sleek and stylish, and easily scripted for clickable resizing. (I love resizing scripts, sorry!)

Posy Trudeau’s Baggy Jeans at Civvies are put together in a pack with different versions of belted jeans — brown, blue, gray, green, orange, pink, and red — 7 colors in two presized versions, plus two presized pair of sculpty cuffs, all moddable, in baggy and shabby baggy versions! I know you can’t see the belt here, but it made no sense to put it under the jacket. ;)

Rounding off this outfit, the new and recently featured Stomper Engineer boots from Style Starts Here, Danny hair from Truth (still available as a dollarbie, soon to be discontinued…go grab it!), the recently featured Square Link Black Titanium Link Bracelet from Dahlinks, the air vial pendant and a black rubber thumb ring from Mhaijik Guillaume.

Enjoy!

Nouveau chez / New at: “Styles of edo”

Perry Proudhon | - Tenue/Outfit, Dressy | Monday, August 4th, 2008

A trip through edo Tone’s Styles of edo shop can be overwhelming. He has more suits and combinations of jackets, vests, pants, ties, than you could ever wish for.

This new black suit comes with an open shirt and vest (shown); white shirt and tie; white shirt, tie and vest; vest and red scarf (not shown). I really like the detail on this suit, particularly the belt on the pants. edo has a great eye for dressy men’s wear. For those of us who love suits, this is much appreciated!

Truth’s Ersatz in Sable is the hair pictured here. Truth is about to discontinue his stuff, and is having a huge sale, so go check it out. The hair is now 50L per pack of three colors, or 350L for the fatpack. This is a great deal, so get to Truth before it’s not available any more.

The Dublin boots from JCS are always a good choice to round out a suit. Also, Mhaijik Guillaume’s new titanium ring is a nice accessory to wear at any time. The Sofia glasses from Primoptic are also featured.

Lastly, Damiani has come out with version 2 of the Joshua skin, with new tones, Olive being shown here. It’s a great tone, very natural, not too dark, not too pale.

Enjoy!

Tenue du jour / Outfit of the day: “Kalrau”

Perry Proudhon | - Every Day Outfits, - Tenue/Outfit, Casual | Sunday, July 20th, 2008

Kal Rau has an eye for detail that may be unrivaled in SL. The drawings on these Underground jeans remind me of taking a ballpoint pen to my own jeans, and the carabiner & key (offered in green with the jeans, and as a pack of five additional colors) is really well done! Kalrau is the place I turn to when I want my SL look and style to be closest to my RL one. (Getting out my pen and sharpening that line blurring between reality and….)

The blue jean jacket is quite realistic, and comes with or without the shirt beneath. Also included are sculpty cuffs (worn) and chest pocket flaps (not worn, because the attachment point is the same as the necklace I chose, and I’m not that fond of sculpty stuff most of the time anyway). The pocket flaps aren’t bad, but they don’t seem necessary…the jacket looks fine without them.

Mhaijik Guillaume’s Air Vial Pendant is one of several she offers that are animated (obviously not visible here, but you really have to see it). The air swirls around in a tiny misty cloud inside the glass vial…I love these organic, unique items.

Truth’s “Jared” hair in black, the black leather All-Stars from Hoorenbeek, and a black rubber thumb ring (also from Mhaijik Guillaume) round out this outfit.
